2013 ANNUAL MEETING │ NOVEMBER 14-17
PARADISE POINT, SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA USA
San Diego, often known as “America’s Finest City”, is known for its perfect weather, diverse residents, constant influx of tourists, and relaxed attitude. It’s beautiful natural scenery, nightlife, and endless sunny days attract people from a variety of cultures, backgrounds, and ideologies, which leads to a constant exchange of ideas. There appears to be no better place to host the 2013 SSSS conference: Connections: Interdisciplinary Perspectives in Sexuality which will focus on facilitating discourse between a variety of disciplines on sexuality research and creating a space for an intercourse of ideas.
We’ve witnessed the repudiation of long held misconceptions about sexuality and established a science of sexuality that now forms a complex body of epidemiological, biomedical, psychological, sociological, anthropological and clinical knowledge. This was accomplished through alliances and collaborations, amid conflict and controversy. Today we’re contending with polarities and commonalities among sexologists, clinicians, researchers, educators and policymakers. The scientists among us will continue this legacy through having a commitment to interdisciplinary communication and transference of knowledge.
Presentations will include all areas of sexuality including anthropology, communication, education, natural sciences, medicine, media/film, psychology, public policy, public health, sociology, social justice, and other related disciplines. Of particular interest are multidisciplinary submissions focused on historical perspectives, current research, and reports on future developments not yet fully realized.
